Open Source software is about much more than saving money. It is about quality, open standards, interoperability, flexibility, and community support. It is about merit above marketing, and the power to plot your own course, not just follow one set for you.
Open Source is also more than just Linux, Apache HTTPD, and Sendmail. For thousands of commercial software products, there are a host of Open Source alternatives, often with larger user bases, great documentation, and excellent code quality. You don't need to abandon your current systems to leverage Open Source to your advantage.
With years of production Open Source experience, Voltage Noir Consulting can provide advice on the best Open Source solutions and help you design, integrate, deploy, and maintain them. And we will advise you when a commercial solution may be a better fit. (We favor Open Source without being zealots.)
